U15 Badgers travelled to rural Paulton to take on Purnell Sports in the second round of the League Cup.
The pitch was very tight on a significant slope with a clay like slippy surface!
Taking an early lead through Nate Tayler, this was quickly cancelled out by a slick passing move. A penalty was then given for Purnell but a great save by Ellis Ashton ensured the scores stayed level at half time.
Early in second half, Purnell took the lead again which we cancelled out through a close range goal from Connor Weaver, however a few minutes later in the spirit of Christmas we gifted a goal back to Purnell so now 3-2 down.
Badgers then raised their game and with 25 minutes to go, a Connor Weaver strike from just inside opposition half flew over their goalkeeper into the net. Badgers kept pushing and a wonder strike from Wills Wright in 64th minute put Badgers ahead again.
The last 16 minutes saw Purenll push forwards continuously and Badgers held firm and indeed created a couple more chances on the break, but help out to secure a 4-3 victory and progress into the last 8.
